ABOUT MIKE:

The Company owner, Mike Porter, has worked in the mortgage banking industry since 1987 in the Kansas City and Dallas markets. Mike is from Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a Finance and Banking degree. Mike started working in the mortgage business in Kansas City in early 1987…before personal computers were mainstream.

Mike’s early Mortgage Banking career was in the Secondary Marketing department for a national mortgage banking company. This role included trading mortgage backed securities with Wall Street and selling whole loans and bulk loan packages to a variety of mortgage investors nationwide. The experience was invaluable and provides a great foundation for the current work being done growing Red Diamond Home Loans.

Experience at companies such as First Tennessee Bank, First Horizon Home Loans, and MetLife in numerous positions, has enabled a smooth transition into owning and operating Red Diamond Home Loans. Mike is married to his wife, Mary for 39 years and has resided for 25 years and raised 3 daughters in Southlake, Texas.

Regarding the name of the business, a red diamond symbolizes strength, stability, and good fortune which appropriately represents what Red Diamond strives for in its relationships with clients, business partners, employees, and investors.
